About The Cassidy Gallery
The Cassidy Gallery is located in the beautiful Mount Washington Valley, New Hampshire, a mecca for artists since the start of the nineteenth century. The NYC artists of the Hudson River School, led by Thomas Cole, discovered the White Mountain Region in the early 1800s, and attracted other HRS artists such as Benjamin Champney, John Kensett, Frank Shapleigh and many others. And following in the tradition of the Hudson River School, the White Mountain School was formed.
In 2011, my husband and I moved to the Valley from southern New England, and I became immersed in the art scene in the region. I was a professional artist and illustrator, with a Master of Fine Arts, intending to teach workshops and freelance as I had previously. I also wanted to invite the many fine artists and craftspersons I knew to teach workshops. But late in 2012, fate intervened when an opportunity to open a gallery in Jackson presented itself and by January of 2013, we were fully operational.
We recently moved the gallery to its new home at 10 Seavey Street, in the heart of North Conway Village. Now, instead of teaching workshops, my dozens of New England artists consign their work to my gallery. We represent over fifty artists from nearly every state in New England!
We pride ourselves on selecting outstanding work and have compiled a collection unmatched anywhere else. And now with our new e-commerce website, shopcassidygallery, we are able to bring a selection of that work to anyone in the USA at the click of a button.
