Wide Varigated Rust Scarf Woven Alpaca


(RK-11) Artist: Ron King, Downeast Maine.  This Alpaca scarf is woven of 90 percent alpaca and 10 percent silk. The Alpaca scarf is woven of soft hand dyed yarn. The dyeing process is unique in that each scan of yarn has over four colors giving the scarf a vivid complexity of color combinations.

The Alpaca scarf has a wonderful drape that is designed to keep the wearer warm. The scarf measures 11" wide by 72" long with 5" hand knotted fringe. Price includes shipping & handling within the continental USA.

About the artist: Fiber artist Ron King of Downeast Maine has been attracted to textiles from a very young age, and was taught how to knit at age 5 by his mother. He majored in textiles and weaving in college and for graduate school,  had the good fortune to study textile design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Since then, Ron has worked as a textile designer in NYC, taught design and textile design at a number of colleges, and has worked as a production weaver.

"My primary interest in textiles is in the design and production of functional fabrics; and my continuing fascination is rooted in the fundamental aspects of and the exploration of the structure of fabric, the interaction of fibers, and how colors, textures and patterns are created."
