(RK-08) Artist: Ron King, Downeast Maine. This silk scarf is handwoven in a herringbone pattern of a fine 100 percent silk yarn. It features lustrous colors with complex woven structures. The scarf measures 11" wide by 68" long with 4" hand knotted fringe. The scarf has the great drape that silk provides. Price include shipping, handling and tracking.

About the artist: Fiber artist Ron King of Downeast Maine has been attracted to textiles from a very young age, and was taught how to knit at age 5 by his mother. He majored in textiles and weaving in college and for graduate school,  had the good fortune to study textile design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Since then, Ron has worked as a textile designer in NYC, taught design and textile design at a number of colleges, and has worked as a production weaver.

"My primary interest in textiles is in the design and production of functional fabrics; and my continuing fascination is rooted in the fundamental aspects of and the exploration of the structure of fabric, the interaction of fibers, and how colors, textures and patterns are created."
